Chelmer Hard of Hearing Group
About the Club
The group exists for hard of hearing people living in the Chelmsford area or within an easy reach of the town. It is open to adults with hearing difficulties also to sympathetic friends or carers.
It is an opportunity to meet socially with others who have similar hearing problems in a friendly atmosphere, to enjoy a convivial evening, to hear and find out about latest aids and equipment for easier listening, to alleviate that awful feeling of isolation that deaf or hard of hearing people often experience, to chat about your problems and to sometimes find the answers you need to help with hearing a conversation/radio/television etc, the list is endless.
Our monthly program is varied, occasionally we have visiting speakers covering a range of topics or just a members evening. During the summer we have outings and a Christmas party. Each moth we try to have a short exercise of lip reading, a skill which is invaluable to the hard of hearing.
The club meets at 'The Link' Rainsford, Road, Chelmsford on the 4th Monday of every month.
For more information please contact either the chairperson or secretary.
