Safron Sight

About the Club

Saffron Sight is a resource centre that serves visually impaired people in Uttlesford. It was founded in 1994 and provides information support and training facilities for visually impaired people to enable them to maintain an independent lifestyle. The Saffron Sight resource centre in Saffron Walden provides easy access to users and helpers in the centre of town. A range of useful equipment for visually impaired people is displayed for people to test and order, no charge is made for the services provided, regardless of membership.

Equipment at the resource centre includes; magnifying and writing aids, talking watches and clocks, tactile games, thermometers, DIY tools, walking sticks, medical aids, talking scales, liquid level indicators and a talking microwave oven.

Membership (£3 a year, £4 plus carer or relative) - enables you to receive the newsletter and notices of meetings and events

The centre is also keen to organise social events, past events have been theatre visits and day trips to Audley End House, subsidised transport is arranged.

Saffron Sight is always looking for new members and volunteers.
